PLEDGE ONE THING
This was a real-life project with students at City & Islington College studying Business Level 1 & 2. This project was designed to enhance student employability by fostering deeper connections with industry leaders. The aim of the project was to raise awareness of the needs of vulnerable young people and their lack of opportunity by presenting ideas to business partners on how and what they can contribute to improve young lives, such as access to internships, apprenticeships, work experience, work shadowing, full and part time jobs.
As well as being an innovative collaboration, students will also gain valuable experience delivering their pitch to business owners, and valuable grades towards their end of year assessments. The ACED Project joined forces with Islington Council and numerous local businesses to enhance student employability by fostering deeper connections with industry leaders.
I was extremely moved to receive an award on behalf of Islington Council and The ACED Project Community Interest Company and pleased to announce that the 2024/25 academic year groups will be embarking on the new Pledge One Thing project and we are looking forward to seeing their progress, development and success.
