The ACED Project is a Community Interest Company created to support looked after and care experienced young people. Our aim is to help this cohort Aspire, Collaborate and be Empowered (ACED) by utilising the founders' network of a wide range of organisations and by undertaking a variety of projects.
Our core aims are:
- To work in partnership with organisations offering opportunities to care experienced young people and other disadvantaged young people, that might not normally be available to them.
- To build upon existing relationships with businesses and organisations offering work experience, apprenticeships, work shadowing and insight days. As a rule, we do not ask for money, however, donations and gifts received are utilised to incentivise young people's achievements and/or offset any additional costs accrued by them whilst accessing opportunities.
- To create video content for use in schools, youth clubs, youth offending teams, prisons and any other location young people may be. The videos focus on real-life stories of young people who have overcome extremely challenging situations. By harnessing resilience and hope they have been able to move on to build successful lives. We have so far filmed Billy Allington IBO International Super Light title holder, Will Bayley MBE and Paralympian Gold Medallist, Leigh Nicol, female professional football player and more recently Aaron (see video links under 'Charitable Work' tab).
